In this darkness, I venture,
with a single flower,
in my hand,
to meet the you who stands,
under the old wicker tree.

Where I wander, lost and lonely,
past the trees, you take the
leaves and hold,
my gaze, such flickering flames,
crackling, pop,
beaten by harsh November winds.

"I'm sorry," you say,
"We are two kids," you say,
"becoming remnants of collapsed stars."

A crumbled promise slips from numb fingers,
and crashes to the earth.
Promise me you'll never promise,
a field of,
red roses again.
Backbiting tales do more than harm,
our broken hearts,
under these November skies.
Nothing too special..  but written on a whim with past memories in mind while sitting on a cold back porch.  I'll be honest that I'm not real happy with this one because of the off-balance rhyme scheme that doesn't follow any particular pattern, but oh well  lol  It's decent, and I'm submitting this before I decide to scrap it (because who knows, I might decide later that I love this and might regret deleting it X'D)
